Social Value Update

Turning up to support the communities we work within and supporting the growth of the next generation of national critical infrastructure engineering and construction professionals, Lowery’s Head of HR – Nidge Dias – runs our educational out   reach programme. Recent highlights include:

The Cranford Community College, Hounslow, Year 9 Careers Fair

Helping more than 210 students to explore future career pathways and helping local students develop their confidence and professional communication skills, whilst broadening their understanding of career opportunities available to them.

Lampton School, Hounslow / Youth Careers Collective Kickstart Programme – CV Writing and Interview Skills

Working with Year 10 students at Lampton School to develop essential CV writing and interview skills.  Lowery’s Head of HR Nidge Dias volunteered her wealth of experience to show Lampton School pupils how to present their strengths using proven techniques, helping them to build a confident professional profile. Nidge took students through mock interviews to offer them practical experience and professional feedback, equipping them with real‑world skills to support their journeys into further education, training or employment.

Space Studio West London, Feltham / Youth Careers Collective Kickstart Programme

Supporting Year 11 students explore a wide range of job sectors, whilst also learning about technical and transferable employability skills. As part of the day, Nidge delivered a focused presentation on workplace professionalism, helping students understand what positive behaviours look like in real work environments, building the skills, confidence and awareness they need for their future careers.

Nidge commented: “It’s been a real privilege working with these students. Seeing young people grow in confidence as they practice interviews, develop CVs and learn what professionalism looks like in the workplace is exactly why this outreach matters.”

The above events were run in association with The Youth Careers Collective (formerly Spark!). A charity focused on improving young people’s employability skills. They believe every young person can and should be supported to be ready, equipped, motivated and able to enter the world of work.
